Downtown Kelowna hugs the Okanagan shoreline with 30 lakeside beaches, a yacht club, many restaurants, live entertainment and more than 40 award-winning wineries. Kelowna General Hospital provides excellent healthcare. Near by there are plenty of shopping, recreational and educational centres, such as the renowned Okanagan College.More and more high-rise condos are being built in    the downtown core, which is home to many young professionals, students, families and retirees. Lower Mission is a highly desired location which has older homes that have recently undergone renovations, along with proposed newer infill projects. Upper Mission is seeing more new housing developments with unique designs. A majority of the homes and condos enjoy a mountain or lake view. Upper Mission offers an upscale style of living with a community feel , easy access to trails, cycling, wineries, and the downtown core. Black Mountain to the east, has a mix of old and new homes townhomes, duplexs and acreages. There are many new developments going on which attract families and retirees. There are many excellent golf courses close by.

Big White is also close by. It is Canada's largest ski-in/ski-out resort .
